We are living in a world of intense polarization. A time where fear cause people to retreat to their basic world view and become less tolerant we need spaces where we can connect through shared values. Where we feel invited to belong. Who’s here? Who’s not here? Maybe we can get a little bit closer to breathing in the spaces between us. Maybe we can do a little better. Maybe we can do a lot better. Maybe we can see and be seen. Maybe we can play and dance and sing and maybe we can find ourselves within the mess. You are invited. 

The dance performance Dritter Raum brings together the practice of contact improvisation and the concept of the third place. The project participants bring many years of experience with contact improvisation to the table and explore how this form, with its physical and social aspects, can function as a third place. The dance performance does not immediately invite the audience to join in, but it offers space to think and feel along with it—or to empathize and reflect—on possible forms of coexistence today.
