Laura has been studying Gait Mechanics with Gary Ward / Anatomy in Motion since 2017. She has completed workshops in the flow motion model, Lower Limb Biomechanics, Upper Body Mechanics, an online 8 week mentorship with Gary Ward himself.
The work is a way of understanding human movement through the mechanics of gait. How we walk determines how we move and vice versa. A unique methodology that approaches the body as an intelligent system which prioritises efficiency over effort or pain, the AiM method allows the practitioner to connect static and dynamic assessments (for alignment and movement blockages) to the patterns of functional movement found in Gait.
Laura has used the method with private clients, professional dancers, and young acting students for years as a method that supports an enhanced understanding of functional movement, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and movement efficiency and training in general.
Laura will often combine the AiM method with other modalities in professional performance training and somatics.
She has worked in professional settings offering one to one training for performers and athletes in HfMDK, Folkwang Universität der Kunste, Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Theater Bremen/Unusual Symptoms.
